For this week, we've got a literature challenge for you! The theme for this contest is nature.
Write a story like you would normally based on the theme. But your story will have a twist! Near the middle of the tale, incorporate at least one of the following emotions into your piece:
Panic
Joy
Lust
Anger
For example, my story, using panic as the emotion, would be:
There once was a forest unlike any other. In this area grew candy cane trees and sugar sunflowers beside caramel rivers. The creatures of this forest carefully kept it pristine, when all of a sudden, a pack of vicious wolves came bounding in from a neighboring forest. They attacked the forest dwellers, whose eyes lit in terror. They flew through their home as fast as they could, hoping to make it to the other side of the river where the wolves couldn't catch them, but only the fastest survived.
Yours can be as long as you want or as short as that!
We'll be looking for that moment where the story twists, so make sure to make it a big twist!
Four winners will receive the dA PRO Nomad Bag! These winners will be chosen based on inclusion of the theme, creativity, originality, and use of the emotion to twist the storyline.
Submit your entries to our Twisted Story Gallery folder. Remember, this is a literature contest only!
All entries must be in by Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 11:59 PM Los Angeles, CA, time.
Put on your storytelling hat and get ready to spin us a yarn with a twist! We can't wait to see your entries.
